That's $97.50 paid monthly, so the $79 pass saves you $18.50 — one charge, rate locked, nothing bills in the offseason. Split it with your crew however you already settle up; we don't move money between members.

Why contests stay free

BetCrews scores picks against point spreads. Paid-entry contests built that way get treated as sports wagering in a lot of states, so crew-vs-crew contests will never cost money to enter. If we ever charge, it's for the research tools around the contests — never the contests themselves.

That line got firmer in 2025: California's Attorney General now treats paid-entry daily fantasy as sports wagering, and several states moved against sweepstakes-style workarounds. If a free contest ever carries a prize, it runs as a posted sweepstakes with real rules — not a workaround.
