What we collect

  • Account details — email address, username, display name, and an avatar if you sign in with Google.
  • Crew activity — the crews you belong to, your votes, the unit stakes you set, the timestamp on each pick your crew locked, and how each one graded.
  • Waiver wire listing — if you opt in, the leagues you follow, your short blurb, and the crew offers sent to you.
  • Uploads — any screenshot a member attaches to a pick as a record of what was taken.
  • Push subscriptions — only if you opt in to line-move alerts, and only the browser token needed to deliver them.

We do not collect payment card numbers or bank details, because we never handle your money. We don't buy data about you and we don't sell yours.

Who can see what

  • Your crew sees your display name, your votes, your unit stakes, and your record inside that crew.
  • The public sees nothing tied to you unless you switch on a public bettor profile. Aggregate stats on our results pages are anonymized and never name an individual who hasn't opted in.
  • If you opt into a public profile, your username, pick history, wager sizes in units, and win/loss record become visible to anyone. You can switch this off at any time from your profile, which removes the public page.
  • Uploaded screenshots are stored privately and are visible only to members of the crew that pick belongs to.

Why we process it

To run the product you asked for: showing your crew's board, grading picks honestly in units, ranking records fairly, and sending alerts you opted into. We also use aggregate, de-identified data to measure whether crews outperform picking solo, and we publish those aggregates on our results page.

Third parties

Odds, scores, injuries, and weather come from third-party feeds; we send them no personal data. Authentication and storage run on our hosting provider's infrastructure. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email, name, and avatar — nothing more, and we don't tell Google anything about your betting.

Retention and deletion

Account and crew data persists while your account is open, because an editable or disappearing record would defeat the purpose of the product. You can turn off a public profile whenever you want, and you can ask us to delete your account entirely.

On deletion we remove your profile, credentials, payment handles, and push subscriptions. Votes and settled tickets stay in your crew's history in de-identified form, so the group's shared record and other members' results remain intact.

Security

Data is access-controlled per crew at the database level, so one crew cannot read another's votes, ledger, or uploads. No system is perfect — use a strong, unique password.

Age and eligibility data

BetCrews is for adults 21 and over. Before picks unlock we ask for your birth year and your state. We store the year only — not a full date of birth, and no ID document — because the year is the least personal thing that still answers the age question. Your state is stored for the same reason: it decides which sportsbook links and prize periods are available to you.

That answer is checked on our servers every time a pick or contest entry is saved, so it is not something the app can be talked out of. We don't sell it, and it isn't shown to your crew.

We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 21, and we delete such accounts, their picks, and their standings when we learn of them.

Changes and contact

If we make a material change to this policy we'll update the date at the top and note it in the app. For any privacy request, including deletion, contact your crew admin or reach us through the site.
